Most roads were dirt, sometimes they were made of gravel, and in rare instances they were planked. The very first schoolhouse in Wilsonville was built in 1876 and was called the Frog Pond School. In 1912 it was replaced by a larger two room school. This remained Wilsonville’s primary high school until the 1980’s and 1990’s when the increase in population required the opening of two middle schools and Wilsonville High School. In the early 1900’s the town was very tiny but possessed most of the essentials, including a general store, hardware business, a doctor, a train depot, and a farming community.
